Come behind the scenes with us as we chat with Darren Palmer about his design and aesthetic choices for his Bondi Beach home renovation.
We knew Darren’s apartment was going to be incredible from the get go. Darren has worked with our pieces previously but this time he was specifying them for his own home renovation in Bondi Beach, Sydney. The project came at an opportune time as we were set to release a new range of internal doors. High quality internal doors are one of the most effective ways to elevate the aesthetic of your home.
We invited Darren to our manufacturing warehouse in Berkeley Vale on the Central Coast of NSW for a personalised run down on Loughlin Furniture’s production of real timber furniture. We were thrilled Darren shared the same attitude with us on high quality, sustainable furnishings “I love natural timber, my whole aesthetic is if it works in nature, it works in interiors” says Darren.
Along with our newly launched Frenchy internal door Darren had plans to renovate a small master bedroom walk in robe to an ensuite. The limiting size and shape of the room meant a custom piece was going to be necessary. Darren loved our Angourie vanity unit but wanted to use his own Monreale Marble natural stone for the top. The same stone is used in his beautiful kitchen for a high end & cohesive look throughout. Darren paired the Angourie vanity with our Alura mirror cabinets in matching American Oak light timber and upgraded to timber veneer internals.
Darren also got creative with one of our Alura full length mirrors, mounting it horizontally above the master bed, elevating the look from the ensuite right through to the bedroom.
