Formica House

Although located in Queenscliff, Formica House is not your traditional beach house. Perfectly perched above Freshwater Beach, this cliffside retreat was designed by architect Brad Dorn of Dorn Design and built by Dinkum Building. With a northerly orientation bringing an intense wash of morning light, the brief for Interior Designer Frances Formica, of On Form Interiors, was to soften and diffuse that brightness, creating rooms that feel calm, refined and quietly connected to the stunning view.

Natural materials lead the palette, with timber chosen for tone, grain and the way it settles into the light across the day. Frances chose our American Oak Aged finish throughout. The result is a home that holds the drama of its setting, while feeling effortless to live in.
